Our Give Back Program:

We believe that being in the fortunate position of being able to give back, comes with a responsibility to give back.

This is our way of recognising that responsibility, and we will continue to evolve our approach over time with feedback from friends, guests and our regional community.

Time out for emergency workers: 3 nights at no cost, 6 times a year

• Our emergency service workers, be they in ambulances week in week out, fighting fires through summer or supporting communities recovering from floods, cop the brunt of the risk and trauma our society experiences. It is the inevitable result of brave people putting themselves in harms way for the benefit of others.

• We can’t increase funding levels, salary levels, or work conditions, but we can offer 3 nights accomodation, once every 2 months, at no cost, giving emergency service workers from the NSW South Coast a chance to get away, refresh and re-set as individuals or with family and friends;

• Time in nature is shown time and again as a powerful way to bring stress levels under control (cortisol levels drop), and improve mood (dopamine returns). So we hope in a small way, we can help support out emergency service workers;

How to arrange a stay:

Artist in residency: Once a year 3 week immersion

• South Coast NSW is full of precious natural wonders that are coming under increasing pressures as our climate changes - more intense bush fire seasons, longer fire seasons, more damaging storms and floods and of course rising sea levels;

• Across cultures and time, artists have helped inspire reflection and action in individuals and societies, and have shaped our love and respect for the natural world;

• We invite artists from all disciplines to spend 3 weeks at no cost @citrusbythesea, to gain inspiration for a body of work that responds to the natural environment of the south coast, and which inspires a love for this region. Our residency includes an up front payment for a piece of work, that can be produced during or subsequent to your stay;
